We want back Dudus

A nine-year-old boy was among at least three persons injured in a shoot-out between police and gunmen in Denham Town, West Kingston, yesterday afternoon.

Residents said the youngster, was struck by a bullet on his right eye, as he and a friend were walking along Chestnut Lane in the community, about 2:30pm.

Yesterday, dozens of residents gathered at the intersection of Chestnut Lane and North Street lambasting the two police officers, who they said sprayed bullets indiscriminately on the crowded roadway.

They directed their furious words at a contingent of police officers and soldiers who were deployed to the area.

"Is police shoot the little pickney dem, them too wicked, we tired of them," one woman screamed, her voice cracking in anger.

"We want back Dudus! Ever since them take him 'way them (police) don't stop terrorise we around here. Them is wicked," she added, making reference to the extradition of former West Kingston strongman, Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.
