O.c. Dread bio

When you hear the name O.C Dread, the first thought that comes to mind is the Energy Squad but whatever that initial thought might be O.C Dread has branded his name and his crew as a multi-talented sound system that's quickly spreading throughtout the airwaves.
Hailing from the beautiful and richly diverse country of Guyana, I am a proud son of the soil. My musical journey began in the land of my birth, my paradise on Earth, Guyana. I started out with Roland B where I learned all my oldies but goodies in she 80's. At the tender age of 11, I was already playing with Jamroc. My big breakout moment came when I began playing with Fusion, it was at this point I really made my mark in Guyana's Entertainment industry and took the nation by storm.
I migrated to New York in the 90's and I always knew the sky was the limit for me. New York has offered me even bigger dreams and overwhelming success. After moving here I played a with Lion Heart and Studio 1 for awhile but I always knew the time would come when I could step out on my own and chase after my own success. The birth of O.C. Dread & da EnergySquad is now not just a dream but a reality. We are always thinking outside the box and defying the odds. We have the energy to rock any crowd. O.C. Dread can perfectly scratch, mix or blend any track with ease. We've shared the stage with many world renowned artists such as Serani, Spice, Natural Black, Capleton, Busy Signal and our system stood out as one of greats, superseding everyone's expectations.
Music is my calling, I love every aspect of this fascinating industry, when it comes to music I wear many hats, that of a DJ, and Emcee and a Promoter. I do it all and I do it WELL!!!! O.C. Dread & da EnergySquad should be the final piece of the puzzle that will take the Entertainment industry from great to exceptional!!!!!!
My I've been fortunate to Aside from being an entrepreneur and amazingly talented, but I'm proud to be described as compassionate O.C. Dread is very compassionate. I want to help launch the musical careers of my fellow Guyanese and share my expertise with them. I've always worked closely with my fellow Guyanese artists and promoters, Natural Black, and to name a few. (Insert the names of other artists in the space)
Although my body resides in New York my heart will forever be in Guyana, I am Guyanese for life. I love my people and my country. Living away has made me appreciate my country even more and remaining true to our pledge, I pledge to always dedicate my energies towards the happiness and prosperity of my fellow Guyanese and by extension the world at large. It is my aim that my audience be as diverse as my native land for which I'm so proud of. To my fellow Guyanese, I want you to know that climbing the ladder of success is tough, getting there is hard work, but for those who want it badly enough it's all worth it. And don't forget, it's okay to stumble, just dust yourself off and keep going.
!!!! I've lived away for quite some time but my career started in Guyana and the time has come now for me to return to my roots
